SHIPWRECK GLASS
Chip Steeler has been electroforming copper and glass since learning the craft from his brother in 2009. Drawing from a background that includes intaglio printing and exhibition design for fine art museums, Chip saw great expressive potential in the surface of copper and began melding it with functional glass to create a variety of unique and intricate designs. It often takes as long as a full month to create just the right juxtaposition of colors within the copper patina. Chip has done collaborations with a wide range of nationally known glass houses as well as up-and-coming local glass artists. He does customs with many glass companies’ blessings and maintains an always evolving production catalog.
