Pulse Glass
The Pulse Glass family used to be an up and coming force in the glass pipe industry, hand-blowing scientific, functional borosilicate glass art in Los Angeles with the sole mission to become the premier choice for best-in-class smoking products and accessories.
Unfortunately that has now changed. It is important to us at Columbia River Glass that we support American artists and their work. We will not support inhumane labor practices used to produce inferior quality, and in some cases hazardous products overseas. We also will not support unethical business practices of deliberately misleading the public about their product. Pulse has decided to stop making glass in the US and start importing glass from China, and they are deceptively marketing it as American made. They have also undercut their official resellers – of which we were one – by selling the poor quality imported glass at “wholesale” prices to the public. Since it is low cost glass coming from China, they can now make large, dishonest margins. This puts headshops nationwide, as well as their official resellers that helped them build their brand, in a terrible position. When we purchased most of our Pulse Glass, we saw nationally known glass artists doing collabs with them. We had no reason to suspect they were anything other than what they claimed. We know that all of our pieces were sand carved in the US. Now that the AGE Show has denied Pulse Glass a booth at their show because they could not prove their current glass was made in the US, we are selling our remaining inventory at wholesale until it’s gone. We won’t make a dime, in fact we’ll pay for shipping and take a loss.
