Description
There is a documentary called ‘Degenerate Art: The Art and Culture of Glass Pipes’ that actually covers the history and relevance of Bob Snodgrass and his art. How it was first sold at Grateful Dead shows in the parking lot and helped grow borosilicate glass art. Bob invented many aspects of borosilicate glass art like fuming the glass with precious metals. A genuine Snodgrass is as much a piece of history as it is a piece of glass art.
This is a fantastic UV reactive Maptech bead by Bob Snodgrass. The parrot head is UV reactive, as well as a few subtle reactive millis. There are multiple alien heads and amazing star millis here. Tiny stars and large stars decorate the silver fume ‘sky’. The carbon tech/maptech includes a subtle “Glass by Snodgrass” label, a marijuana leaf, and other details. The star of this piece to us is an incredible fishbone or fish skeleton milli on the side. There is a tiny fumed Deadhead Bob hid on this that is the smallest skeleton face we’ve ever seen.
2.5 inches long/high, and 1 inch wide with parrot head, .75 inches wide without. The shaping here will work great for a tip too. Amazing glass art from Bob Snodgrass and we all thank bob for our Snoddy! The details are many on a piece like this by Bob, and if you are lucky enough to get this piece we encourage you to get in touch with Bob and the @SnodgrassGlass_Official account on Instagram and ask them about your Snodgrass if you have questions.
