There is a documentary called ‘Degenerate Art: The Art and Culture of Glass Pipes’ that actually covers the history and relevance of Bob and his art, how it was first sold at Grateful Dead shows in the parking lot and helped grow borosilicate glass art. A genuine Snodgrass is as much a piece of history as it is a piece of glass art.
This is Bob Snodgrass’ favorite piece of glass art from 2018, bar nothing. He was quite clear about that, he was excited about this piece, and we are thrilled to make it available. This hammer was made with the help of Ginny, who added some nice UV accents and amazing multi-level skull fuming on the neck. The skulls in the stem are stretched and twisted in the glass for a fantastic look. There are some UV reactive Illuminati highlights in the Deadheads on the stem as you can see in the UV photo below. Bob made the piece and everything else. The bottom of the can is a full Snodgrass skull marble melted down to be the base, and this is why it’s so thick. There are historic pieces of prep included here from small pieces to large strips. The fuming is amazing with the gem-like fuming of the can transitioning in multi-level skull fuming down to the mouthpiece.
The details are many on a piece like this by Bob, and if you are lucky enough to get this piece we encourage you to get in touch with Bob and the @SnodgrassGlass_Official account on Instagram and ask them about the piece. This will come in Pelican 1400. A unique and amazing Snodgrass piece!
