There is a documentary called ‘Degenerate Art: The Art and Culture of Glass Pipes’ that actually covers the history and relevance of Bob Snodgrass and his art. How it was first sold at Grateful Dead shows in the parking lot and helped grow borosilicate glass art. How Bob invented fuming boro with precious metals. It’s a long list of firsts. The Snodgrass family is a family of glass artists who all came up under Bob’s teaching, and they have glass art in their DNA. They live in a compound in Eugene, Oregon where they all blow glass together. Bob’s family creates beautiful glass in the Snodgrass style. We’re excited to have these pieces in our gallery!

This is a small fumed hammer by Ginny Snodgrass and the fuming is fantastic. It’s lightly accented with UV reactive glass on the top of the can. When you hit this one with a UV light you’ll see it worked into the fuming. This is a smaller pipe that’s easy to handle. The smaller size would make it a great heady piece for hiking or camping. Dot flourishes are on the right side of the can are a nice look and also add dimples for easy handling.  The fuming swirls throughout this piece and I have no doubt the color change will be beautiful. Hues of color are beautiful and change throughout the piece. The color tones also change with the nature of the light. Perfect size hand pipe at 4 inches long, 1.25 inches wide and 2 inches in height. A unique and interesting pipe in any light! Beautiful work from Ginny Snodgrass!
