Tyler Massoth, or Moose and Fire Glass, got his start in glass art from his father. In 1999, at 6 years of age, Tyler started helping his dad make blown Christmas ornaments. This went on for years and he learned a lot from this informal training. Around 13 or 14 Tyler developed an interest in color changing glass and started trying to learn pipemaking. He did his own self education on fuming with precious metals, and started making crude attempts. Over the next 10 years Tyler refined and developed his own fuming and shaping style as he had no mentors to teach him. This made his development a slow process, but that is also the reason his fuming and shaping has a rather unique look – his styles were developed on his own. Tyler now has a signature heady look to his work that is striking at a glance.

A beautiful fumed sidecar hammer from Tyler Massoth of Mosse and Fire Glass. A laid back stance on the can makes for a lower profile. Amazing dot box fumetech and bubble trap on the can. Heavy, cloudy fuming on the bowl and upper stem. The stem is a fumicello with red, yellow, and violet tones. Four impressive marbles across the can. The two marbles in the middle lean violet in certain light. A silver fumed horn is tucked under. The color change will be stunning on this. A beautiful dry piece from Moose and Fire!

2.3 inches tall, 3.25 inches wide including marbles, and 5.25 inches long, this is a medium hammer. The bowl leans large and has a 5mm hole so a jack will be easy. A nice heft to the piece with almost a half pound of boro. Fantastic work from Tyler Massoth!
